The Cow of Israel : Secret Behind Reviving the Dead
The Cow of Israel….
The Secret Behind Reviving the Dead
Introduction
In modern medicine, cardiac resuscitation relies on a technique known as defibrillation, where an electric shock is delivered to the heart to restore activity and restart the rhythm of life.
This technology was discovered only a few decades ago.
Yet the Qur’an narrates a miracle that preceded science by centuries:
the story of a murdered man among the Children of Israel, and how God commanded that the dead body be struck with a part of a perfectly pure yellow cow—so he rose alive for a moment and declared the name of his killer.
How did this happen?
And how could a single bone restore life, even for seconds, to a lifeless body?
First: What Is the Story?
The Qur’anic Verse
English translation (Sahih International):
“And [recall] when you slew a man and disputed over it, but Allah was to bring out what you were concealing.
So We said, ‘Strike him with part of it.’ Thus does Allah bring the dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you might reason.”
(Al-Baqarah 72–73)
The Narrative in Brief
A wealthy man among the Children of Israel had no heir except his nephew. Driven by greed, the nephew murdered him and threw the body on the road to frame the tribes.
The people argued fiercely over who committed the murder.
They turned to their Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) for judgment.
God commanded Moses to order them to slaughter a cow with very specific qualities.
When they finally did, God instructed them to strike the corpse with part of that cow’s bone.
The moment they struck him, the dead man rose, pointed to his murderer, then died again.
A sign to show that God brings the dead to life and exposes what people hide.
Yet even today, the mechanism of this event remained scientifically unexplained.
The Explanation Begins With Biophysics
.................
Calcium and Electricity
— The Metal That Ignites Life
Calcium is not a mere passive mineral locked in the bones.
It exists inside bone tissue as electrically active ions (Ca²⁺), forming the basis of:
Neural signal transmission ،Muscle contraction ،Cardiac rhythm initiation Cellular activation under pressure or mechanical
Calcium (Ca²⁺) is far more than a mineral stored in bones;
it is a positively charged ion — the essential key that powers the body’s bio-electrical system.
1) Calcium: the spark of every nerve signal
When an electrical impulse reaches the end of a nerve, calcium channels open, allowing Ca²⁺ to rush inward. This surge triggers the release of neurotransmitters and carries the message forward. Without Ca²⁺, no nerve signal could ever be transmitted.
2) The heart cannot beat without calcium
Cardiac cells rely on a small electrical impulse that opens their calcium channels. Once Ca²⁺ enters, it prompts an additional release of calcium from within the cell.
This controlled “burst” of calcium enables actin and myosin to interact — and the heart contracts.
3) Life itself is an electric cycle governed by Ca²⁺
Calcium entering the cell = contraction.
Calcium leaving the cell = relaxation.
The repetition of this cycle is the rhythm of life.
4) Modern electric defibrillation works through Ca²⁺
A defibrillator resets the heart’s electrical system, reopening ion channels and restoring the flow of calcium — allowing the heartbeat to restart.
5) Even moments after death, cells remain briefly responsive because of Ca²⁺
Nerves and muscles can still react to short electrical shocks for a limited time, as their calcium systems are not immediately destroyed after the heart stops.
Golden Conclusion
Calcium is the bridge between electrical charge and biological motion — the element that converts electricity into heartbeat, and heartbeat into life itself.
The Piezoelectric Secret of Bone
Bone—especially the pure, healthy bone of cattle—possesses a property called:
The ability of bone to generate an electric charge when subjected to pressure or impact.
This scientific fact was not discovered until the 20th century.
When a bone is struck, the microscopic crystals of hydroxyapatite bend and instantly release an electric charge.
This charge travels to nearby tissues—
the same fundamental principle behind modern defibrillation.
Why Did God Choose a Cow Specifically?
The choice was not random; it aligns with scientific precision.
1) Cattle bones contain the highest levels of bioactive calcium
Cattle possess:
High bone density A strong yet flexible crystalline matrix Ideal geometry for generating electrical discharge under mechanical force 2) Cows are among the least toxic animals
Their tissues and bones retain high mineral purity, generating a cleaner, more effective electrical impulse than scavenging or carnivorous animals.
3) The size of cow bone is ideal for producing a momentary electric shock
Not too small like goats,
not excessively dense like camels—
but the precise range needed for a short, focused electrical burst.
Why This Exact Cow? (Scientific Insight Into the Qur’anic Description)
The Israelites kept delaying, so God kept refining the cow’s specifications.
Each specification carries deep scientific meaning:
1) “Bright yellow in color” (صفراء فاقع لونها)
A vivid yellow indicates:
Purity of tissues Healthy bone structure Low melanin levels (melanin reduces electrical conductivity)
Bright yellow = maximum bioelectrical efficiency.
2) “Sound and flawless” (مُسَلَّمَة)
No disease, no inflammation, no old fractures.
Disease disrupts calcium crystals → weakens the electrical response.
3) “Without blemish” (لا شِيَةَ فيها)
Uniformity of pigmentation reflects uniformity in:
Calcium distribution Bone matrix integrity Bioelectric behavior
4) “Neither too old nor too young” (لا فارِض ولا بِكْر)
Bones of medium maturity generate the strongest piezoelectric discharge.
How Did the Revival Happen Scientifically?
A Precise Physiological Reconstruction
After slaughtering the cow, a piece of its bone was taken.
When the bone struck the corpse:
The bone crystals bent and released an electric spark ,The charge spread into the nearby muscles and nerves.
Nerve cells—though the body was clinically “dead”—can still respond to electrical stimulation for a short period.
The impulse reactivated motor neurons.
The chest or facial muscles contracted. The tongue moved, the mouth opened. Partial consciousness flickered back for a brief moment.
Enough for the man to say:
“It was my nephew who killed me.”
This is scientifically similar to what happens today when a dead body is stimulated:
A shock Muscle reaction Temporary activation Then cessation once the impulse fades
Not a full resurrection—
but a momentary reanimation to reveal the truth, exactly as the Qur’an described.
Finally: How Could Prophet Muhammad Have Known This 1400 Years Ago?
This level of scientific precision:
Piezoelectricity Bioelectric, calcium dynamics ,Hydroxyapatite crystal, discharge Post-mortem ,nerve activation ,The link between yellow pigmentation and electrical efficiency
…was discovered only in the 20th century, with advanced laboratories and electronic equipment.
Yet the Qur’an summarized the entire mechanism in one concise command:
فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبُوهُ بِبَعْضِهَا
“We said, ‘Strike him with part of it.’”
A desert Arab man, illiterate, living 1400 years ago, could not possibly have known any of this—
unless the One who revealed it is
the Creator of bone, calcium, electricity, and life itself.
There is no deity but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger.
